Palisades Park - Has a Dog Park

• Location: Palisades Dr, Daly City
• Features: This is one of the only parks directly in Daly City with a dedicated off-leash space for dogs. Also has nice ocean views and well-maintained pathways for walking and running. While near the coast, there is no beach here.
  
• Highlights: Playground, picnic sites, BBQ facilities, and a basketball court.
• Distance from Westlake Apartments: 1.3 miles

Westlake Park

• Location: Lake Merced Blvd, Daly City
• Features: A neighborhood park with green spaces, playgrounds, and picnic areas. It’s more of a local gathering spot but offers a peaceful place to relax. Leashes required.
• Highlights: Great for a leisurely stroll or picnic with your pup.
• Distance from Westlake Apartments: .9 miles

Westmoor Park

• Location: 131 Westmoor Ave., Daly City
• Features: A 6.5-acre urban green space, ideal for walking, jogging, and casual strolls. Leashes required.
• Highlights: Playground, multiple tennis courts, baseball field, and scenic pathways for leisurely walks or runs.
• Distance from Westlake Apartments: 2 miles

Bark Park

• Location: D Street, Colma, CA
• Features: Designed for small to medium-sized dogs, this fully enclosed dog park offers is a nice neighborhood hangout in nearby Colma.
• Highlights: Water station, gravel track, and grassy area for running and exercise.
• Distance from Westlake Apartments: 2.1 miles

Thornton State Beach

• Location: Thornton Beach Rd, Daly City
• Features: A hidden gem for beach lovers and four-legged friends who love sandy spaces, offering hiking trails along the bluffs and beautiful ocean views. It’s a more secluded spot compared to other more crowded beaches nearby. Leashes required.
• Highlights: Trails, ocean vistas, and a sense of tranquility.
• Distance from Westlake Apartments: 1.2 miles

Mussel Rock Park

• Location: Skyline Dr & Westline Dr, Daly City
• Features: A coastal park with trails that provide stunning ocean views and opportunities to see paragliders taking off from the cliffs. Leashes required.
• Highlights: Rocky beach access, scenic overlooks, and sunset views.
• Distance from Westlake Apartments: ~5 Miles

Lake Merced

• Location: Skyline Blvd & Harding Rd, San Francisco
• Features: Just on the border with San Francisco, this freshwater lake offers trails for walking, jogging, and biking. The area is also popular for birdwatching and fishing. Leashes required.
• Highlights: Boat rentals, archery range, and picnic spots.
• Distance from Westlake Apartments: ~4 Miles

Phillip Burton Memorial Beach & Trail

• Location: John Daly Blvd and California 35, Daly City
• Features: Secluded and rugged stretch of coastline located between Thornton State Beach and Fort Funston Beach. It's known for its challenging access due to erosion, but offers scenic bluff-top trails and stunning views. Accessible by walking south from Fort Funston at low tide or through a less-traveled equestrian trail from the north. Leashed required.
• Highlights: The beach features picturesque wooden posts that emerge from the sand during low tides. Visitors can also explore a deep cave along the beach with the help of a flashlight.
• Distance from Westlake Apartments: 4.5 Miles
